I was cleaning out some old photos, came across these and thought some of you might like to see them.

I've never seen horn "trumpets" like that. Is there a story behind those? Just on this model, or on all the 907s?
Thanks for the images. |

The horn trumpets were used on Targa Florio cars....a 44 mile/lap ( ! ) road circuit in southern-most Italy. Immortalized by Vic Elford's famous drive-from-behind win in (?) 1968.
If I'm not mistaken....the #224 w/ trumpets and 907 type...in the photos...may be indeed Vic's car restored. Anyone confirm ? --- Wil

The shop is in the Columbus area.
Can’t remember the deal on the horns I think they where on the original, so they where just kept. Don't think it was that car. Can't recall the specifics.. |

Neat ... thanks for sharing. Any info on the current status of the car (ie., is it running in vintage races or just part of a collection)?
Just curious, but any idea what the chasis off to the right is in the 4th picture? I can't quite make it out.

The other car in the photo is a Gulf Mirage Cosworth.
The 907 went to Europe so I don’t know if it is being raced or not. |

I thought my recollection of Vic Elford's '68 Targa win is correct... along with #224.

Hmmm, interesting. Well like I said, can’t say for sure that is the same car but if it was, I did not realize what I was working on at the time...
Thanks for the info.. |
