OOOOOH Pricey
Here's a story. Mike McGrath is restoring my car. He's a Pelicanhead in Westport CT. He sold me a set of Sport Seat cores. They needed restoring. I was thinking about Autos Int'l, but spending $1,200 for a pair of seats to be recovered sounded like a lot of money, plus shipping back and forth to the west coast.
Mike said he knew a shop that he thought would be about the same, but without the shipping. I saw their website, and they did fantastic work. So, he took the seats to the shop in New York, and was dropping them off. He called me to confirm that they were going to charge me $1,300. I told him OK, since that was without shipping. As they were unloading the seats, a guy from the shop and Mike were talking about doing the seats, and the guy told him that they did great work, and it was going to be worth the $1,300 each. Mike said EACH? And then called me to say that they reloaded the seats back in his truck. We have since shipped them back to Autos Int'l. The cost is reasonable for the completeness of the work and the quality will match the work that Mike is doing on my 73 targa. That's my story. larry
