Cruise control wire harness

I have an 82 911SC Euro car. I purchased a used wiring harness for the cruise control. My question is this, I have a brown wire with a white tracer going to the clutch switch. It came with a female connector. Going into this connector is another brown wire with white hash marks. Not a continual white tracer. Problem is the same brown wire with white hash marks is stubbed out of the black sheath that covers the harness farther back in the harness. I can account for all the other wires and have them connected to the car. Any idea where the mystery wire might go? The other side of the clutch switch is another all brown wire that is there. This brown wire with white hash marks looks OEM but is not in the wiring diagram from Bentley. Thanks, Tom
