magnacor wire holders ?

I have an 83SC amd will be putting on magnacor spark plug wires.
The oem wires have molded plastics on the wires to seperate them. The magnacor wires do not - what do do you use. It has been suggest to go to local auto parts store ( pep boys , auto, etal) .

Just wanted to check with other SC owners. In particular , how do you sepeate and secure over the fan housing?

Thanks
earl

Thanks. I just added the 8.5mm Magnacores to my 83SC and have been wondering the same thing.

You can slit the OEM separators and slip the larger wires into them for a stock looking fit.

Or you can use an aftermarket wire separator kit:

I used an aftermarket kit and let them drape over the engine shroud.

I did the same as Charlie, but mine are black. The ones I bought were for an 8 cyl engine, so I cut off the extra wire gripper (?) on two of them to run the wires to the right side of the engine.

I don't know if the separators on my 88 are the same as yours, but when I got my 8.5 magnecores I used a bullet shaped grinding attachment I found for my dremel that expanded the inner diameter of the black plastic stock separators just the right amount to fit the new wires perfectly. It also left the holes nice and smooth so they wouldn't damage the wire sheaths. Worked great and looks and mounts like stock .

PAG has some plastic "connectors" that come apart into 2 halves. You just put 3 wires in and snap them together. You can also bolt them down.

No idea what the p/n might be tho.

Don't take it as gospel, but the part number for the plastic cable holders appears to be 901 609 591 00 for you SC guys according to Porsche PET. 3.2L Motronic cable holders looks like 911 609 591 00.

Hopefully the above helps.

i cut the oem units off of the original wires at the top of the connection loop, if you will. then put the mags into them, the thicker wires seemed to crowd the old wire stays well enough to keep them in place.
