rust repair question
I started taking apart this 73t to see just what I bought. The nose here was covered with fiberglass. I tore it off and it really doesnt look as bad as I was expecting.
Is there a reason for the two holes on each side? I was thinking it would be easier to just weld in a solid patch. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1092956009.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1092956054.jpg |
You need the holes to mount the bumpers and guards.
How was your bumper mounted? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1092957142.jpg |
It was held on by a bracket on the battery boxes and two bolts on each side in the front corners. The guards are still on the bumber. I asssume they are bolted to the bumper. Of coarse this may not be the correct way.

I forgot about those brackets... at least you have a picture of the stock config. I see that you have factory air as well.

OK, how can you tell I have factory air?

The front panels on cars with factory AC look slightly different.
If you look at the replacement panel that is available (picture below) there is stamping that extends below where the hole is. So it appears to me that Porsche made two different front panels, one for AC and one without. Do you by any chance have a Kardex that shows the AC coming from the factory? http://www.restoration-design.com/pa...mages/P230.jpg |
