Can some one decode these Vin #'s

I want to make sure these #'s are right and to make sure I am decoding it right
Vin # 9117202260
I decoded it as a 1977 911 coupe with a us spec 2.7 engine.
Owner claiming this car to be a targa and its coming up as a coupe?

Engine vin # 9011061015R

I come up with the same thing as you on the VIN,

911: 911
7: 1977
2: US/canada
0: Coupe, Targa would be 1
2260: sequential number

That is not the engine number. The engine S/N should be 627xxxx

What #'s (VIN, engine, body panals, etc) should be checked when purchasing a 911? And where are these #'s located?
