opinion on targa tops
has anyone on the forum tried some of the aftermarket targa tops? i've seen a one piece fibergalss version that looks pretty good. my original top is ok; but i'm looking for something that can withstand the wet winter months of the pac northwest AND something that's quieter when driving in the rain i.e with less wind and wet road/tire noise.
comments/suggestions are appreciated. thanks, mike |

The ebay fibreglass tops have a sketchy reputation. Do a search for the seller (is it Sundial or something similar?) here & on ebay feedback.
Pelican sells a fibreglass 'skin' for your existing folding frame. Its about $500 though + you need to strip your old top or find a good core, then fit it, then paint & headliner. The best option IMO is the factory hardtop. Unfortunately they're very rare. However I've heard that more canadian targas were delivered with these than US targas. You might get lucky if you ask around locally! |
