Planning a trip to Stuttgart area

I am planing my trip to Stuttgart area at the end of Oct ? I have not been there before and would like to gather informations : i.e. car rental ( P-car if possible ), hotels, and of course --the Porsche museum. And isit possible to have a tour of the Porsche factory ?...Thanks in advance
