Fuel Line Replacement 79SC CIS

Has any lister undertaken to replace or rebuild the fuel injector lines on a CIS system? I'm thinking that I would like to use a SS braided line but before I disassemble my old lines I want to make sure this is a feasible idea. If I could get some helpful advice, it would be greatly appreciated!

Are there any special considerations with respect to removing the banjo and injector end fittings from my old fuel lines and replacing them on new SS braided lines?

Can these special fittings be reused? Any advice on reconnecting them?

What is the equivalent standard ID for new lines? What is the maximum pressure in the system? Do any of these lines ever pull a vacuum -- i.e., do I have to worry about collapsing as well.

I'm sure there are other questions and considerations I have not thought of. Thanks in advance for you help!!! -- Duane

All I can say is - what ever you do make sure it's right. These lines carry a tremendous volume of fuel at relatively high pressure. After a line failed a few years ago I was amazed at the amount of fuel that was atomized and sprayed throughout my engine compartment in just a few seconds.

Thank goodness it failed as I was trying to start the engine instead of running with hot exhaust manifolds!
