CV Boot Question
 

Quick question: what's the diff between the 'flanged' and 'un-flanged' CV boots? Is it a simple matter of clipping a new boot to an old flange onself?

I think there are some funky boots that have the metal flanges already attached to the rubber accordian, so you don't have to put a clamp on them. Is that what you mean?

I just went ahead and used the original kind when I did mine recently - idea above is nice but didn't seem it would save much time.

The taxonomy of CV joints adn their boots could probably fill a book....
