First DE was today
What can I say, nothing but fun. Will do it again next year after a few improvements. Had a great time with the local PCA. Had a real good instructor who did not mind saying take it easy. It was very humbling experience. I with-drew my application for the F-1 driving job I had put in for.
I will get some pics up later.

I'll never forget the drive home from my first DE day (Streets of Willow). I had a huge shix eating grin on my face for the entire 2 hour drive home.
When I got home, my wife asked me how my day was and for the first time in a long time......I had no words to say, just the same shix eating grin. She's come to hate that grin and the expense that has accompanied it over the years Glad you had a good time!Where's the pic's ?

Pics would be great? How about that 917 replica ripping it up. By the way, the targa looks great in real life.

![]() Doing a few DEs has slowed me down on the freeway. Last time at Thunderhill (with NASA), a Z06 spun right in front of me, but he got it under control and everything was OK. Then I realized how it could have turned out if he had been on the cell phone. Anyway, they are great fun.

NO pics of him running, but it looks cool. This belongs to a local who has a wife that... serious butt. She is one fast girl.

Last one.
I do have to Thank Damon for letting me drive that #93 during one of my runs while my car cooled off. I was driving a little too hard for it. Not Good mind you, just hard.

That's great Rick, I'll be attending my second DE this Friday. I spent the better part of 2 days going through everything on my car to ensure it's up to the task. I'm glad I did, I found a couple of potential problems. The biggest one was that my throttle rod bushings had all but disenigrated. It was nice to eliminate the possibility of my throttle sticking open.

Good job. Loudon is fairly technical w/ several hard-braking areas. Not the kindest of tracks to beginners. Turn 3 is a great spectator spot, I've seen many cars get folded up in there.
For many years this used to be my home track, but I've never seen a 917 there. Even if it is a replica. Lucky. I don't know about you guys, but the only time I don't have an urge, energy, nor mental strength to speed is when I'm coming back from a DE. Feels like I'm on autopilot, just happy to be doing 60-65; "Drivin' Miss Daisy"-style
