Confirm my clutch please...
Got a used clutch and pressure plate from a nearby Porsche mechanic dirt cheap as he is a friend of a friend. (Temp fix till the rebuild.)
Can someone please confirm that this is a clutch and pressure plate for a 901 Tranny. Never had mine out so don't know what it looks like. And want to ensure it's right before I tear it apart. I've seen both 6 and 4 spring discs out there, both labelled for my car. Just want to be certain. Thanks Jim

the mechanic doesn't know??
the 901 takes a 215 mm I think - post the size (911 takes 225) or give the p/n's and someone will look it up on PET for you. |

Yes Silly, the mechanic knows....
The 901 takes a 215 mm, the part numbers are rubbed off from minor wear, or not obvious. I am simply looking for a second opinion from my trusted Pelicanheads, as I have previously received conflicting descriptions of them. (6 spring/4 spring) All I want to know, from someone who knows their stuff is... Does this appear to be a 901 clutch. ? Where do I take the 215 mm measurement from? I've measured the height from the flat side to the base of the slotted cylinder and found it to be 215 mm, but I don't know if this is where the measure is done from. JW! Where are you... Jim

diameter of the enitire disc?
See, there I was, not listening to my old high school math class. I was converting 215 to 2.5 centimeters. Should be 21.5. I'll check it. Do the springs make a difference? I've seen both 6 and 4 spring discs represented as being for the 901. Jim

I did the measurement. 215 mm exactly.
Now, do 215 mm clutch discs come with different spring formations? Or did someone mislabel the 6 spring clutch I saw on eBay as a 65-59 911 clutch? Jim
