1982 911sc Fuel Pump Location and tips for R&R

Where is the fuel pump located, any tricks to removing it.

It is located under a protective metal pan just behind the front axle. Pinch off the hoses to prevent too much gas from spilling out when removing the old one. Only tricky part I ran into was one of the fittings very difficult to remove with hand tools, it may have been over torqued sometime in its past. I hit it with an impact wrench and it was smooth sailing. Its really a very easy job.
