Headliner Help?

I just recieved a new headliner for my 72 coupe,
Has anyone put this in and maybe can help me .
For most of you living in CA, you need to get in the car and start driving.
Head southeast to Al I am about ten miles from the gulf.
I will see you in about two and half days.

OR just email/post me how you put yours in.

thanks for the help

here the project.

headliner

I put mine in the easy way, I took the car to a trim shop and they put it in for $130 ! including the sunroof
The windows and door seals were removed of course.
NO way to do it with the windows in!
Good luck
Jeff

I believe this is one of the 101 projects in Wayne's book.
I bought the book just to replace my headliner, a year later I STILL haven't gotten a round tuit. I have a new headliner still in the box, all I need is a tuit. Does Pelican sell those?

It's not too bad. I watched a guy do it. In fact, he was our dearly departed Chip Evaul. It probably goes a lot easier on the 2nd one.

The thing is, when are you going to do the 2nd one?

Having rebuilt a 911 engine myself, I would still pay someone $130.00 to install the headliner!

Ditto Kurt's comments. I did it, but it is very time and patience consuming. $130 is a bargin!

Iron the whole thing to get wrinkles out low heat ,and water . A did mine like this.. 1-.mark the rods - 2- start at the front with the clips holding on the front ledge (the little clips) BUT feel free to use some of your old ones for awhile,, sit in the back seat and pull and add rods,,,,,I used lots of close pins (the loundry type) too at the windshild. This is not a race keep tuging get the rods in get it hooked to the back edge (lots of clips)
start dwn the sides.....it dont mater if it takes 6 hours plan on it. Dont cut nothing till you have it all sort of in place.
Use 3m spray glue start getting itall where it belongs keep pulling and watching the rack (wrinkles) get them out now or never.
Thats about it,, I rate it a little harder then a case assy.
Now its time for a BEER
