Installing OMP seats in a 79 SC, Need advice

I am putting a pair of OMP seats in a 1979 911SC. I bought the mounting brackets that go on the new seats, but now I need to adapt the new slides to the car. The new slides are closer together than the old ones so I have to either extend the mounting flanges or bridge them. Can any one give me some ideas on the best way to proceed? Thanks

take 2 aluminum (or steel) plates and run them crosswise between the stock mounting points. Each plate will need 4 holes: 2 for the stock mount point, and the other two for the new sliders.

Nostatic,
Thanks for the help. How thick should these plates be?
Should I consider angle stock and mount below the current mounting points? I like the aluminum idea, I guess it would be lighter, but I also guess the aluminum would have to be thicker, possibly raising the seat level. Could I use a piece of angle in aluminum and mount below the current mounting points?

With my Sparco SPeedware send an adapter plate that is Al and about 1/2" thick (I'll have to measure...may be 1/4" or 3/8"). It is light and stiff, but does raise the seat a bit. That could be a problem if you're tall (it was for me). You could try the angle iron if the measurements are right, but make sure that the *seat* will fit between all the bits if you drop it. For my driver's side we went with a custom steel plate setup, cutting the stock seat mounts out and welding new cross plates in a lower position. But I was trying to gain a few inches to give me helmet clearance (6'1", sunroof coupe).

I installed the seats with the 1/8" steel flat stock but it didnt work out because the seats were too high. I wound up bringing the car to a friend who is a welder. He lowered the brackets so I would have room for my fat head and a helmet.

You could bolt pieces of angle together for the side pieces and use the flat steel in the middle like this also:

It dropped my seat height about 2". Not that I have to worry about it at 5'9 or anything, I just thought the tall people would appreciate it . It does help to give me a slightly different/better view of my gauges.
