Updating fog lights

On my '80 SC the foglights stick out in front of the front dam in somewhat of an awkward way. On the later 80's SC's they are integrated into the dam nicely. What would I need to update my look to the later 80's look?

THanks,

Nix

They not integrated on any of the SC's, only on the Carrera's

Buy a Carrera valance and fog lights.

I just removed them on my 82

I'm in the process of doing it myself. Picked up a Carrera valence, removed the fog lights, sanded the valance down, ordered some paint that matches my color (paint in spray cans), layed down a couple layers of primer then a couple layers of paint. Now I just got to get around to installing it.

Yeah, I was thinking I might just remove them. The headlights by themselves aren't all that bright though. Maybe some new bulbs/lenses will fix that up.

Unless you are going to driving lights, don't expect the Carrera fog lights to be any better than what you have. Invest the money in some H4 headlights with relays.

Remove them. Fog lights suck. Do you really drive your car in the fog, anyway?

Here in the US, they are a "fashion statement" more than anything else. Everyone drives around with their fogs on all the time. I even see morons in newer Audis and Mercedes with the rear fog light on at all times. Its nice and distracting when your behind them.

I'd remove mine if it wouldn't leave two gaping holes in the valence. I figure the holes will make nice brake cooling ducts later.

No question there are morons out there without a clue. However, last weekend I was driving back from central Oregon in a pretty severe rainstorm in my Volvo V70. I couldn't see didly of the cars in front of me, which meant those behind couldn't see me very well either.

I routinely use the rear fog in situations like that - precisely since it does make my rear more visible and gets their attention, if only long enough to keep them from slamming into me.

I replaced the ugly/worn/cloudy lenses with new ones for about $20 total. Looks MUCH better. 10 min job taking my time.

What was the source of the lenses? Mine are kind of fogy now too.
