I drive ALL my cars to work. So, they won't cover me.

I was happy that they offered "trailer and paddock" insurance for the track car. No one else seemed to offer this. I am less worried about incidents on the track currently, as I only DE. I am, however, very worried about boneheads on the public highways, and Hagerty made it easy to get the insurance I was looking for.
Never had to deal with them regarding any claims yet... Tom

I've had them for a couple years but have never had to file a claim. They were easy to deal with when adding the 911. I've heard one story about someone filing a claim and it was no problem. They paid up with a minimum of hassle.
For me, insuring two Porsches with full agreed value coverage for $300/year is worth the tradeoff of having to drive my Jetta to work. |

Second hand story. I know a guy who owns 10 collector cars. One got dinged up in a parking lot on the weekend. They paid high quality repairs, no questions asked.

I pay $50 a year to cover a 72 911S in storage (no driving).

Rick I have an 85 also...are they going to insure yours if you occasionally drive to work? I insure my 64 356 with Haggerty for about 300 bucks a year with a very nice agreed value...but I only put maybe 2K miles a year on it and dont drive it to work. State Farm charges me a lot (about 800 per year) for the 911 for 5K miles and commuting priv. A bit steep for no accident history I think.

911 cars are expensive to insure partly due to repair costs. You can have a spotless record, the repair cost wont' go away. George |

After reading for the last week about them, I'm in the process of switching my '83 911sc Coupe over to them. Quoted me $338 a year. I was paying $550 a year w/ Nationwide, more insurance than I needed since this is a 3rd car, for pleasure purposes. I don't have a problem w/ the limitations.

275 for 5,000 miles a year coverage. Agreed on price is 16,000 after I sent them a lot of photos. No claims thankfully, but excellent customer service. Policy includes road service that I didn't really need, but what the heck. Right about the work thing, though. Don't get caught driving to work or you're screwed.

I just signed on with them for my wife's 66 Corvette and my 911. Before doing so, I spoke to almost every major provider of collector/classic insurance and Hagerty came out on top. Primarily based on the fact that they are a bit more flexible about using the cars for pleasure driving vs. show purposes only.

I've been a customer since 1995 but have no claims experience.
2003 policy was the first year they specifically excluded coverage at race tracks..... |

Found a local representative of haggerty. I signed up with them first and found him later. He's a performance car guy too! Its a hoot. He sent me a form assigning him as my local rep. Now I've got local representation with a performance driving type guy. You should look around among your local independent insureance agents. I would suspect that you could find one that would represent Haggerty.
Good luck, David Duffield |

Was weird when I called - the rep said he couldn't see why I wouldn't be covered at the track as long as it wasn't competitive.
True???

I've had them for a year. Unfortunatley I had a claim for a broken windshield. No questions asked, paid for an original Porsche dealer windshield and top installation.
Great people to deal with! Mike

It seems like this provision is mostly unenforceable other than you going over the mileage alotment (which BTW they never check). If you tell me you were driving for pleasure on a Wednesday morning (going to the mechanic, going to play golf, going out to breakfast, etc) how can they prove otherwise? They might drop you though after the claim is settled if they thought you are lying. |

Can someone post an 800 number? I am presently covered by the LelandWest insurance. But I got really dissapointed when they wouldn't cover my E30 M3 which has no less or maybe even more collectors value (more rare) then the 75 911S that i have. But someone told me that Hagerty would insure the M so I will insure both the 911 and M3 with them.
