OK, I'll be the first to ask: anybody have an idea what's in the wooden bax in the first picture? The way is it strapped in makes it almost seem like it was an afterthought.

Well, it says "Warning Glass" on the side ..... I'm guessing ballast.


Also note the steering wheel in this then state-of-the-art race car - the good old Prototipo from the late 60's!

Another point of interest is the interior door panels. Look like thin fiberglass to me and the SC/RS in the Paris-Dakar thread have basically the same panels. Surprised you SC boys haven't replicated these yet .......

Does anyone besides me (and Curt, obviously) save all of these pictures and magazine reviews, etc.. on their computer organized in different categories?

I think I was born in the wrong time. The modern cars are very exciting, whether it be CGT, GT3RSR, F1, etc..., but nothing is quite as exciting as the cars of old from the 50's though the 70's. I guess the racecars of the day pretty much parallel the street cars if you think about it. THe appeal of the automobile definitely went to crap in the 70's for the most part. There were a few things that hung on, but not many.

Here's another that's pretty cool. I'm not really sure what this is, but I think it may be the first version for the 935. This is 1976 at Silverstone. Anybody know?

The box in the moby car might have been holding a cooler of some sort for a cool suit. Can’t see a plumbing though.
