High RPM Stumble - Ideas?

I could use some troublehooting ideas here. The car is an 86, with the stock 3.2. The stumble is almost like a momentary cutoff of fuel or spark, and shows up in the range of 5000 rpm or more, typically in hard cornering at the track, and occasionally entering a straightaway and running the RPM up high. Stumble lasts just for a split second. I can't reproduce this problem in normal city driving. It has been getting progressivly worse, but only shows up on the track. Checked the fuel filter it is good. Could really use some suggestions here. Thanks.

Rick

Could check the DME relay, but another possible cause is the solder connection in the DME for the ignition coil transistor. It is the big metal three legged device that is heat sinked. Look very closely for heat induced cracked joint failure on the back of the board. Also improperly adjusted or failing TDC or rpm sensors or their wiring, or arcing ignition wires.

Follow up - Finally got back to the track to wring the car out after changing the CHT connector. This appears to have cured the "miss" I was experiencing. The wire was actually broken just behind the connector, underneath the rubber protective boot. Much thanks to fellow Pelicanite Jim Dyck for all his help.

Well, I hope that you solved that problem, very iritating as well as frustrating...

You describe the exact - and I mean to the "T" problem I was having at the track as well.....

Mine turned out to be a loose DME ignition timing sensor on the flywheel....
