huh - well the "off-road" stuff is really wimpy -- I'd like to see it do something that an old VW bus can't do.

I was just thinking the same thing Randy. Although, this is probably more 'off road' than most Cayenne owners (and most SUVs for that matter) will ever see......

And old VW bus wouldn't even make it up any of those grades with the lousy torque the dinky little 4-cylinder makes. You guys just look for any excuse to bash the Cayenne don't you BTW, please show me a VW Bus that can pull off something like this:

YRS, nice pictures, looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for posting

A bus could probably do all the stuff pictured, including climb that hill. 1st gear is super short. Oh, the water crossing wouldn't be doable, though.

I've had my bus in places that would amaze you.

old VW bus wouldn't even make it up any of those grades ...

you have to do it right - I did it wrong once and found out. I also used to shoot past early version SUVs (Broncos and such) while they were stuck in the mud. And that was just a regular 2wd bus. There is a syncro vanagon site on the web that will really surprise you.

I am hoping VW will release a camper 4wd version of the new bus. That's what I really want instead of the stream of SUVs I've been using for my utility cars.

And, no, I have nothing against eh pepperpot except that now there is no pure sports car manf. anywhere in the world. i.e. PAG is now defocused from their origianl mission (sports cars) and Dr. Wienie King has replaced that with the new primary mission: make $$.
