wheel bearing "adjustment"?
I was told by the mechanic that did the PPI on my 77 911S that the front wheel bearings need adjustment. Are they really adjustable? Or is it like my BMW whereas one needs to seat the bearing by torquing to 35 ft/lbs and then back off a quarter turn. TIA

They can also simply be adjusted.
Raise the corner of the car. Support and chock wheels. Remove the wheel and dust cap. Loosen the clamp w/ 16mm Allen wrench. While turning the brake disk, tighten the lock nut until you can just barely move the thrust washer behind w/ a screwdriver blade w/o prying the blade. Retighten the screw to 11 ft/lb. Replace dust cap and wheel.
