Installing Studs - How To
I am trying to install my heat exchanger studs and have been having difficulty in installing the studs. What is the proper technique for installing the studs?
I tried double nutting the studs and screwing the stud down, but when I tr to back the nut off it backs out the stud as well. The problem may be due to the nuts I am using. The nuts are the new nuts I got for the studs and I believe the nuts are tapered. Are there other methods to try or should I get different nuts to use for the double-nut technique? I need to sing the studs in deep enough so the barrel nuts will fit snug up the to exhaust port flange. Thanks Zac |
I'd get a stud remover/installer or just go for some normal nuts and the double nut technique. Yes, actually I'd go for the double nut technique because I'm cheap even when it comes to the P-car.

I have used regular nuts not the tampered ones. I had no problem putting the studs into places. I was debating at the time to use anti seize compound or not (that was the question for me !!!). i decided to go without any compound after what i went thru to take those *%$#+= studs out.
Good luck, filou. |
