Oil Light Question

My Dad has a '71 911 and he took it out today for a little drive and when he turned the car off after the drive, the oil pressure light turned on and stayed on for about an hour. He took the car out again to see if anything would change but it didn't. The light is off when he drives but as soon as he turns the car off, the light turns on again. Oil pressure is fine and there is plenty of oil, anyone have any advice? Thanks.

the circuit should be disconnected with the engine off.

Is anything else powered when the oil light comes on, like the radio?

What do the oil temp and pressure look like when the light comes on? Is the engine running hot? I have had some flickering lights when the engine crosses the second temp line. Both the oil lights and the brake light flicker in sequence when my engine was running at real high temps.

All of the gauges are at the bottom when the light is on. It happens when the car is off and none of the gauges do anything but the light is on. I know there shouldn't be any power going to it but for some reason there is....

It obviously sounds like power is there when their shouldn't be. I would guess the next step to be to figure out what if anything is sharing the same power line and then start to trace it back. I don't think this will help much but try to pull the gauge and see if anything looks out of the ordinary.

It also sounds like it may be connected to the ignition circuit somehow.
