Need Advice as a Wrecker!

I think this belongs to the classifieds. On the other hand, since I do not have the parts yet, I am posting it here.

I have a complete salvage '86 930 that I need to part out as soon as I get the motor running.

I am aware of the hard work of parting out the parts, but I am unaware of how to price the pieces. Excluding fuchs and hard to find parts, theory of supply-and-demand, etc.............is 50% of original prices reasonable? 40? 60? What guidelines do you guys have?

MMASTRO seems to be in the business of buying and parting out turbos. Anyone knows his formula?

Thanks.

I don't know if I can help, but going to a salvage yard and paying 75% of new is not fun. I'm sure you will get takers at 50%.

Parting is a tough job. I did a Targa earlier this year. You only have one car's worth of any given thing. And your parting timing may not match the current needs of the lookers.

How many times have I looked and looked and then bought new only to find a week later that there is a new listing for what I just bought at a much cheaper price. I'm talking about non wear items like T-bars.

That's the way it goes. You might have that fuse panel for months before the right person shows up. Meanwhile, you have to keep listing and listing or sell it off dirt cheap to get rid ot it.

All of this has something to do with pricing. The salvage yard can and will hang on to a part until a needy buyer shows up and there will be no fire sale. Us amatuers have a much harder time with one of each thing and wanting it all to go within a short period of time.

I say good luck and don't ask too much.
