3.0 to Turbo conversion?
Hi,
I am wondering if anyone has ever attempted to install a turbo in a 3.0 engine. If so, how much work would be needed, and what would the cost for the turbo be? I do not know much about turbos, but I may want to install one in my '86 911 cab that has a 3.0. Would the frame need to be widened (My Porsche is on a 76' frame) ? Can someone explain to me how a turbo works? Thanks, Matt |
There are a couple of folks who have attempted this feat.
The frame does not need to be widened. There might be some threads on this. |
Use the search button and look for 911SC turbo and "rfng". "rfng" is selling a kit I believe.
Here's a link to get you started: Turbo Kits for 80-83 911 SC Welcome to the board. -Chris |
It would be cheaper and less painful to just sell your car and buy a 930.
