turbo not spooling

I cant get my car tubo to boost now that it runs. I know that it has worked in the past when the car was running super rich I could here it. I am wondering if the enrichment relay under the seat is the problem. I think it has very bad connections anybody have the same ? The car starts starving at 3000 rpms .

I've seen turbos that just have carbon built up on the shaft and the blades. It is not uncommon to see too much carbon or oil coked up to impede your impeller. Maybe your boost overflow (wastegate) is open and your turbo can't spool up. Or worst case your bearings could be locked up. That relay is less than $10 so change it for peace of mind.

-pressure leak after the turbo, the wastegate could be stuck open, or given how much you've been toying with the motor, one of your intercooler o-rings could be shot.
Is the car smoking at all?

Take your muffler off, you should be able to spin the blades easily. If not its locked up, if so, look for a leak.

While you have the muffler off, take your fingers and try to move the shaft with the nut on it up and down. You should not have much play in them. If there is much its worth either getting an exchange unit or overhauling your turbo. It spins up far too fast to not treat it correctly.

No sure if you have driven a turbo much before. Hope someone told you about letting the motor idle for at least a minute after driving it. This allows the turbocharger turbine wheel to spool down. After you shut the motor down if the turbo turbine is still spooling down its doing so with no oil pressure and the bearings do not last long like that. Also, no boost what so ever until the oil temp is warm.

Love the turbo's but they can be high maintenance...

I never have owned a turbo but I am aware of the cool down. I have been reading excellence for sevral years ( I just sold a 944 1986.5 with 42k on it in showroom condition ) I read every articale and tech bulliten now I have something to practice on! The engine does not smoke now it did when the computer was not working right ( all gas ) and I think the computer from idling has started to take care of the rich/lean mixture and smoother idle. I sure from tyring to repair it the exhuast must be full of crap. Mice came out the tail pipe when I first started it .

Steven,

Been there as well. If the exhaust cannot flow out of the system then your turbo is not going to spool up. Clear up any restriction and then try it again after checking the turbo turbine for wear.

Sounds like you are making progress!
