Ride Height
Having replaced all four Boge sport dampers on my Carrera with Bilstein sport units, the car is sitting higher - as I expected.
But what should the 'factory' ride height be (for a UK car) and how do I measure it? I'm going to have a specialist do the work - just curious to know how far my car is away from 'factory' spec. Thanks.

approx 640 mm on the back and 630mm on the front would be euro height

Doesn't sound right....
The wheel opening is cut differently front and back...and there is usually a larger number for the front to equal a 1 degree downward rake ( front end lower than rear). In US terms, this would be 25.5" front / 25" rear ( 648mm front / 635mm rear). Wil

Just saw this thread and ran out to the car with a tape measure. My 88 has the factory sports suspension (Bilsteins?), UK car.
The heights (arch to ground) are as follows: LR 64cm LF 65cm RR 66cm RF 67cm Now does this look right? It would appear that the right side of the car sits higher than the left. Did Porsche know that this car would be driven by a fat b'stard? and thus dial in an allowance? Or is my car badly setup? Paranoia is creeping up on me as I type. I thought Euro cars were lower than their US counterparts.

US cars were higher than Euro only for the late 70's through (maybe) 1982. By 1983 all cars were about equal. This equality was maintained throughout the remaining torsion bar years ( 84-89). In 89/90, with the 964 C2 and their coil springs, things started to get goofy again and US cars were a bit higher...but not as much as in the 70's.

UK Carrera,
Let us know how much you pay and where you get the work done. My SC is overdue an allignment and due to space/time constaints, I'll probably be getting the ride height sorted at the same time.
