Door Lock Problem...
I've reviewed quite a few threads and can't find a match for the problem I'm experiencing with my door lock. I expect to have open up the door to look at it in detail, but am curious as to any suggestions/guesses on what the problem is.
A few weeks back, I went to unlock the door and there was NO resistance on the lock. The electric mechanism appeared to work just fine and both the drivers and passenger doors unlocked. I could in fact spin the lock all the way around with no 'stops'. After ignoring the problem for a few weeks, the door will now not completely unlock. I suspect something is wrong with the mechanical portion of the locking mechanism. So... prior to pulling this apart... any guesses as to what is broken (i.e. what should I look for)? any other suggestions? I'm assuming I get to this repair by removing the door panel? Thanks, Bernie |
you will probably have to remove the window frame for access to the lock lever if that's where the rod fell out.
