There's a specific forum for the later cars that will answer all your questions, but FWIW, if I had the money I would buy one. I consider them the pinnacle of 911 design.

Price of entry is mid-high $20k's and it goes on up from there. Spend the money upfront and get a very clean one. They can get expensive, if you don't DIY. But they are not hard to work on.

Rick is right- best to spend extra up front to get a good one. That probably goes for any Porsche purchase. Don't let higher mileage scare you- BUT, be afraid of poor maintenace records and neglectful previous owners.
