2 distributor vacuum hoses-help?

There are 2 vacuum hoses on the 81 SC3.0 distributor-
Looks like the one facing the fan shroud is plugged in where I can see it and the hose facing the left side cylinder bank is on the back of the throttle housing. Is this backwards??

Does any one have a good vacuum diagram? It could be all the hoses are mixed up. Hard to tell from the sticker on the car but, the distributer hoses definitely look off.

I swapped them and the idle speed went up quite a bit but it had no power if this helps. It seemed to run fine while cold though with them switched but warm it almost seemed to be way advanced..?
