Carrera tail vs Turbo tail?

I can see the difference but is the turbo tail (86 year) designed to bring in more cooling air than the flatter Carrera tail? or is it just made to make room for the turbo alum cooler? or strictly an aero effect?

Thanks

Craig

The turbo tail possesses a more aggressive profile to provide more downforce (and probably more air into the engine bay). As you state it also allows for the intercooler fitment.
Both tails are matched to an appropriate front spoiler.

the turbo tail provides more downforce at the expense of drag, that`s why RUF went with the whale tail. l`ve had both and l wouldn`t use the tea tray(turbo) tail unless l actually had a turbo as l think the whale looks better.l do have a turbo, come to think of it,and l`m using the 993 Twin Turbo tail in fiberglass.
