New Muffler Leistritz VS. Dansk

I have an '86 Carrera with SSI's and a SS Leistritz dual in single out muffler. The SSI's and muffler are in perfect condition however, I think the sound of the muffler can be improved. I don't really want to cut my valance so I'm thinking of going with a dual in single out Dansk. This decision is based on numerous searches on the forum. Give me piece of mind! Will the Dansk dual in single out have a better sound to it? I know this is a subjective question however, this is what I'm looking for:

1. NO RESONANCE

2. Low rumble at idle - but not a V8 rumble, you know what I mean.

3. When you hit it, you hear it.

Those of you with the Dansk, are you satisified?

I am more than satisfied with my Dansk 1 in 2 out.
Sounds better than my mates 3.2 Carrera 1 in 1 out Dansk. Probably due to twice as much gas coming out of one hole??

I have a Leistritz on my small 2.2 bore motor...dual in single out. "I" like it. The dual out Dansk was nice as well on the 3.0 with CIS, different tone, deeper sounding growl on up to top end...never used the single Dansk out model.

Ive got a Dansk and I love it. the twin exit pipes on mine have been cut to about 5" in length. It sounds great. Nice low-mid rumble at idle. Sets off car alarms. Makes my 2.4 sound bigger than it is.

Above 4000RPM it gets noticeably louder. Its not unbearable, but I wouldnt want anything louder on a street car. but then again, i shouldnt be above 4000RPM too much on the street

NOH20,

I've got SSI's and a painted SS Dansk 2 in, 1 out. I had a funny resonance for the first month at 2800rpm. Very irritating but it just went away at some point. I guess the parts needed to meld together. Other that that I feel that my muffler has the qualities you're looking for.

Dansk 2 in 1 out on my enlarged SC. Sounds great, and a change in exhaust note tells me when it's time to change points. (Yes, I have them.) It is a little louder and deeper than stock, but I can't tell you specifically how much is engine mod and how much is muffler.

I've got SSI's and a Dansk (painted) on my 3.2 SS [78sc]. I'm not in love with that odd resonance @ 2800 or so. It actually sounds like something vibrating against the body in a woody, hollow way. But that is my only complaint sounds fine above and beyond that point. Hope mine fixes itself like Carl's did. Looks like there might even be enough room on one of the 'goes-in-tas' to weld a bung for the AFR meter...Hmmmm
