Wurth Trim Paint - do I need to prime?

I am about to paint the trim rings on my tachometer with Wurth's Satin Black Trim Paint. I have sanded with emory cloth, but should I also prime them before painting?

BTW, the can's instructions make no mention of priming.... just clean, dry and spray!

I don't know about have to...
But I did prime some stuff I painted a couple weeks ago with the Wurth Self-Etching primer before I painted it with the trim paint and the results were the best I've gotten from a spray can paint job.
