Question 993 Widebody Question

Hi All:

I am going to be parting with my 1983 911SC (26k original miles!) in the near future in favor of a 993. I have been doing a good bit of research on the 993, but can't seem to find the answer to one question. It is as follows:

What is the aesthetic difference between a "widebody" 993 and a 993 Carrera? Is it truly wider? If so, by how much? Lastly, are there any other physically noticeable differences between the "widebody" and the Carrera?

Many thanks in advance,
John

I'll start at the front.
-widebody 993s have a turbo front bumper.
-front fenders are the same for all cars
-wide bodies have a more pronounced steel rocker sill
-rear fenders on the widebodies are approx. 1 1/8 inches wider per side than the standard 993 Carrera.
-widebody rear bumpers are slightly wider (to match up with the wider rear fenders)

That is it, body wise. Suspension is basically the same. The 2S used spacers to move the standard 17 wheels out to fill the wider fender wells. Although most came with the optional 18 x 10 inch hollow spoke wheels ala the TwinTurbo. They used a 40mm offset. The 4S came with 18inch solid spoke versions of the Turbo twist wheel.
