Wayne's 101 Projects Book

Today I had a free day and decided to tackle another of the projects from Wayne's book. I adjusted the parking brake guided by a master MIT mind. It got me thinking, how many projects have I and Wayne done together?

Projects by number in Wayne's book:

1. jacking up my car
2. changing the oil
4. air filter replacement
5. fuel accumulator
6. washing my car
9. clutch cable replacement
10. helper spring replacement
11. clutch adjustment
32. pop-off valve onstall
36. transmission oil change (Swepco)
37. shifting coupler replacement (on my old 912)
40. pedal cluster rebuild
46. brake pad replcement (912)
47. rotor replacement (912)
49. brake bleed
50. parking brake adjustment
53. brake caliper rebuild (912)
55. lower front end
79. lens replacement (912)
71. H4 upgrade (912)
73. hood crest install (912)
77. weatherstripping replacement (912)
78. window regulator replacement (912)
79. glass removal (912)
81. hood shock replacement (912 and 911)
86. fuel sender replacement (912)
90. oil gauge and sender replacement
93. install new stereo
99. using a porsche bra (912)
100. polishing alloys

Does anyone have me beat?
:D :D

I got about 50 the last time I counted. And that's with a bunch of stuff being redundant or not applicable to the SC.

Wish I could find mine, I seem to have lost it when I moved. I will probable order another one with my next order, it breaks things down in a more simple way than the Bentley & the pics come in handy.

I've got you all beat!

In that case, Wayne, you got to show your hand! :D

Woo Hoo, found my book yesterday while visiting my mother-in-law. Last winter I used her garage to work on my car & it was in a pile of magazines on her coffee table shelf. What a relief, there are so many useful pics in there that will come in handy when I reassemble my car.

David,

Sounds like you got your money's worth out of that book.

I'm up to 102. (first liar don't stand a chance around here ) ;)

Well, I bought the car and have done several projects on it, so I _started_ at 101....

I used the book recently to do the clutch helper spring. It was a bit frustrating because the book appears to have a reverse-image photo where the helper spring shows up on the opposite side of the picture, than it is in reality. Trying to orientate that thing correctly was a ***** and eventually I just figured it out myself.

It is a confusing shot because the angle is weird under the car. It's not a reverse image though - check the transmission numbers, they are not reversed characters...

David,
That's quite an accomplishment. I think in the 2 years I've had my car I've done about 35 projects...

Yeah you are right. It looked funny when trying to analyze it flat on my back lying under the car.

It reminded me of the time I saw a pic of Paul McCartney playing a right handed Hoffner Bass.

I have the worst record for your book Wayne.

6. washing my car
93. install new stereo
37. shifting coupler replacement - won't attempt again until I know alot more - the last time I drove the car home in 1st gear.

I love that these cars can be worked on by DIY'ers. The book is excellent.
