Header and some silly questions ..

Hi all,

I am a total newbie in porsche as all my previous cars are Japanese made . Ok , there are few questions that i need to ask regarding the headers used to upgrade the original 930 header.

1st) How do you actually determine how well a header is made ? (not in term or quality but performance) What is it governed by ?

2nd) What are the differences between a header with and without heat exchanger ?

3rd)I see alot of after market headers that are selling quiet expensive in the states and uk . My car is in Malaysia, and the labour there is very cheap, so is it possible for me to custom made a header without going through any proffersional design procedures ( ie , testing and calculating the air flow volume, velocity and such..?) and still sound and performs well ?

4th) By, having a better flow header and exhaust, it is possible to cause the engine to run lean? Do i need any modifications on the stock fuel system?

5th) what is the correct air/fuel ratio that a 930 turbo should have ? and if the turbo is boost up to 1 bar, shall the a/f ratio be tuned to the same as stock ?

6th) can i tuned the fuel system of the 930 turbo without having a dyno set, if yes how? (there are very limited equipments available in my town)

p/s-----> although some of these questions might sound abit stupid to most of the pros out there but I hope you guys wont mind cause i am a total newbie and is trying to understand my 930 as much as possible before going through any mods.

 THANKS ALL ..!!

Regards,
Ernest Lai
