K27 7200 vs. K27 HiFlow... the same?
I see people talking about these two turbos, wondering, is the 7200 just the full part number for the k27, or is the k27 7200 the K27 high flow?
Thanks, DMA

The high flow is a different turbo. It spools up a bit later than the 7200 but has a much better high end. The 7200 is the one to get for street driving. The High flow is better for the track and heavily modified engines.
I use the 7200 because I only do a few track events each year and like the lower end response in the street driving I do.

Ahh... but when someone buys a standard K27 for a 930 update, are they getting the 7200, or is there another K27? Thanks again,
DMA

*scratches head* good question. The 930 guru is Stephen at Imagine Auto. When looking to do the upgrade I just called him, and was given these two choices. The High Flow is more expensive, but after talking about my uses of the car he recommended the 7200. Stephen a.ka. PorschePhD is terrific to work with and will help you out.

There is more than one k27. Search on turbo911.com, 911turbo.com or rennlist.con to get the details. Basicly the 7200 gives you faster spooling and more low end while the other (k27 1100 (?)) has more mid to upper end power. Calling Stephen is a good idea.

There are several variations of K-27's, 7200,Hi-flow,K-28
K-28s. Some of the turbo suppliers can custom build a turbo to your spec's. The compressor and hot housings can be swaped around some from larger and smaller models. I have a custom built K-30, a variation of a K-29. You need a ton of mods to get to the K-29/K-30 size, a 7200 and a K-28s works well on 930's.
