Rode in A RUF RCT EVO

OMG.

That car is fast. The acceleration in 2nd and 3rd is incredible. Very subtle treatments but overall just awesome, a brand new 15 year old car. RUF stripped to whitebody and repainted and reassembled with all new parts.

Is this a RUF conversion done on a customer's Porsche VIN car? Whichever, it is beautiful in that color. And they definitely "get with the program" on acceleration!

What's the deal with the green/blueish lenses on the back? I think they are ugly. Other than that- awsome car!

My friend Eric wanted a RUF car for a while but could not import one into Canada until it was 15 years old. So last year tehy started looking for an RCT that RUF could refurbish and resell to Eric, but proved difficult to find. So they switched and found a one owner car from Switzerland with low miles and converted it. It was Finished inJuly 2004. He has been diriving it just about everyday since he got in Mid-August. It was a narrow body Carrera 4 so it has the center console, but the drive system to front wheels has been removed. Everything was built form scratch and he has the pictures to prove it. Alouis personally had this car up to 305kph on the Autobahn before letting it go. Apparently he won't sell a car unless it will top 300 kph.

It has 405 hp and 425 torque and it feels like it. I am not sure how much it weighs, I need to ask that from Eric as I am sure he has it from the shipping paperwork. Anpther neat feature is the dash plaque, apparently the only one ever personally signed.

It was repainted in the original color and he jokes he left it the color of asphalt so the planes would not see him. The only original pieces on the car are the seats, headliner and dash. I cannot confirm this but it sounded like everything was upgraded.

But man what a cool car. If you have more detailed questions I can ask Eric.

Mike

Amazing car!

Gotta start saving my pennies.....I wonder what a conversion from a 911sc to CTR spec might cost?

He won't tell me the price but I know he traded a really sweet Healey to RUF's personal collection as a down payment. He is retired and has had up to 11 cars in his collection, but he has pared it down to 6 now. The diesel golf for his wife's winter car and the Benz wagon for his winter car, then the RUF, the Ferrari 328GTS, a 1949 MGTC and a Benz SL.

I will ask for some interior pics and full frontal pics. the interior is basically standard 964, it has climate control and Cruise and the original Porsche stereo, one of the very few places it still says Porsche.

I will ask Eric if he can email me the pictures RUF sent him during the build of the white body, suspension and engine.

I will have to ask about the tail, I don't know if it is a RUF exclusive or not.

Mike

Oh yeah I forgot to say that RUF is pleased with the rear look and the new rear panel that does not say Prosche. I agree the Reverse lenses would look so much better smoked or even clear. I wonder if there is some reason for the greenish color?
