Front cooler install

I am in the process of installing a front cooler and I am nearly done. My only disappointment is the cooler is in front of the air inlet for the A/C condenser fan inlet which I know won't help the A/C.

While apart, I tossed the old horns since one of my horns was bad anyway and replaced them with a set of Cadillac horns. ($5.00 at Pick and Pull) Turned out to be a nice improvement in the "noise" category.

Very nice! How much room do you have behind the cooler for air flow?

Not a whole bunch. About 1" average. I was quite worried about that part but it seems that these big coolers have enough cooling capacity that it is not a big issue. I bought a BW valance and removed about 1/2 the rolled lip of the opening for the cooler. This allowed me to move the cooler forward a little more.

Mine only has about an inch but seems to work well.

Nice job on mounting the cooler. It even looks like you could add a "crash" bar that spans between the two support brackets in case someone decides to intrude in this space. Are they aluminum like the upper mounts? Might even be good mounting points for an add-on splitter under the bumper.

More cooling than you'll ever need

Where did you get the cooler at?

84toy 09-19-2004 08:29 PM

I got the Setrab cooler from Chuck Moreland at Elephant Racing

Paul, very clean install. I like the bottom bracket you fabbed. The rubber is a nice touch.
