Any pix of flat black SC's?
After almost a year I am finally going to have the time and funds to do some of the small things my car has been needing. Wheel spackers for a set of Cup wheels, a Yellowbird style bumpercover, and a rear spoiler top out the list.
Most of this will be used equipment so I thought about painting the new bumpers, wing, and the entire car flat black myself until I have the money to have it professionally done. Anyone have any pics of some flat black SC's? Thanx in advance, T |

That article in Excellence was great--how Garibaldi pieced that turbo together from parts bins.

That 930 is kinda primer grey but yes it does look bad!.... Here is a John Deere Blitz Black 928 we painted this spring also looks bad(which really means good).

There's an article in the current Sport Compact Car about an STi that they painted flat black with a few dozen cans of spray paint. They talk about sanding the car, tack clothing the paint, and warming the spray cans for more even flow.
You've probably already tossed this around..or don't even care...but flats are hard to keep clean. It's a rough surface so dirt sticks easily but more importantly they scratch very easily and they scratch whatever is trying to scratch them more easily because the flat surface is similar to sand paper. I used to work with bicycles that were flat black and we definitely had another set of issues when we offered flat colored bikes. I bet it'll look pretty cool though. Go for it!

The JD Blitz Black is a semi gloss. It is smooth and UV stable. Heck you can even wax it!

How about that heavy rubber paint they put on subs and stealth aircraft?
I started a search and found this: http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Accessories/laserradar.htm Radar absorbing paint and bras never caught on because the radiator is the biggest reflector of radar energy in most cars. After that comes the headlight reflectors then the license plate. Driving with your high beams on emits enough infrared energy to reduce a laser gun's range by 50% or better. Note: there is no front radiator on the 911, cover the headlights..................................then again I read that the lasers get pointed at the tires.

most any chassis/mower/industrial paint works great. JD blitz black just happens to be a great semi-gloss that's nearly indestructible. sjd
