Ultimate Favorite Driving Music Thread

Usually as I drive I like to hear the sweet whine of the engine and the"whoosh" of the turbo; but when I find myself roaring down long stretches of the interstate, more often than not, I find myself listening to Fleetwood Mac. Just seems to go well with the sound of my car (really loud with dual out muffler).

Thought it would be interesting to find out what others like...

I usually do NPR or the radio is off. Other than that, I'll throw on a CD of rap songs by Slum Village, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Fat Joe but still mix it up with things like Teenage fanclub, Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine...you still with me here???

In the 930 , when reeling in the prey usually Wagner "Ride of the Valkyrie" it gets the goosebumps going !
In the 9146 usually nothing but the flat fan...I couldn't hear the music anyway. Although if parked I like Westside Connection w/ Ice Cube, Dove C. and Mac 10 .

it all depends on what we are doing. if im going hell bent into some twisties.. i listen to the motor. no music nothing.

if im on a long drive i throw on some music. i hae a 6 disk changer in the trunk, wired up to my original blaupunkt (no one can tell its there!).

anways ill usually listen to some blues -muddy waters, buddy guy, elmore james, robert johnson, willie dixon, or howlin wolf. or i will listen to some classic rock. sometimes some folk music. sometimes surf instrumental rock. (dick dale is god)

now if im out on a night on the town, definitly some jazz. coltraine, brubeck, or miles davis.. or if i get tired of bop, some soothing sounds of billie holiday, or duke elington.

now if im on a cross country drive, ill listen to some jam bands- the grateful dead, the allman brothers band, santana.. just get in a great grove when im on the road.

if you wanna know a really good album to listen to on a cross country trip, throw in the grateful deads american beauty. the country side will just open its arms and reveal itself to you as the album plays as if it were some kind of mystic sound track to the great american road going experience..

I really can't listen to tunes in the 911. I really like hearing 5000 r's in 2nd and 3rd better. So, that is music to my ears.

I picked up the new Prodigy album last week, I've found that it adds at least 20 mph to my driving.
