spring plate adjuster bolts - thread pitch?

I have some factory adjustable spring plates on my ST project. On both sides the nuts on the height fixing bolt (not the adjuster) are cracked. I just measured the diameter and bought some M16x2mm nuts to replace them. HMM they don't fit. The thread pitch is finer.

Does anyone know the correct thread pitch for these nuts? I need replacements pretty soon. PET is no help on the dimentions.

Jamie, I think they are 1.5

You can count them to determine for sure. M16x2 means 2mm between each thread. M16x1.5 means 1.5mm between threads, etc.

So just measure a sample of say 5 threads. Divide your measure by 5, that is the pitch.

Thanks, Chuck. I will do that tonight. I was hoping someone had the specs so I could order one today. I have an order pending with McMaster-Carr. No one around here sells fine thread large metric.

I guess I really need to add a thread gauge to my collection.

Do you think Grade 8 will be strong enough in this application? its either that or 18-8 Stainless.

M16 x 1.5mm
