Is AN12 openings large enough?
I seem to recall that a 911 oil line needs somthing like 16AN or larger for proper flow? |

I had one that was only 2 laps old and looked better than new except for all the melted metal in it

Yes I would recommend sonic cleaning before putting it on your engine. Why take the risk.......You still will save big $$ at that point....

Where are you going to install something that big? Not in the fender well obviously. Do you have enough room upfront to fit it. I was watching the same cooler but wasn't ready to modify my '84 front end to fit it. Check out Elephant racing, they have special fittings that will make the AN12 opening bigger, ie. more flow. From their web page "30mm Widemouth fittings are 17.5 mm ID and have flow capacity about 50% greater than AN-12 fittings (typically 14.5mm). They are available for retrofitting to Carrera and C2 type oil coolers (part number 0101100) and for Setrab oil coolers (part number 0111100). These fittings accept standard 30mm Porsche type hose fittings and facilitate easy installation of oil coolers into Porsche cars without the use of AN / metric adapters."
