XM antennae placement
Has anyone had success with placing an XM Radio (micro) antennae on the back deck, between the two rear speakers?
Is reception good? marginal? bad? I don't want to mess the lines of the car with the antennae on the outside. Many thanks, Skip |

I have mine on the dash of my daily driver and it works great. I originally had it on the roof and hated the look. Some (non-Porsche) have had success with placing the antenna below the rear windshield and others have complained that the rear defroster intereferes with reception. Why not just try it out?

I have seen it placed above the fresh air vent on the front of the car. Blends in with all the wipers and other black trim. I thought that looked cool.

i had mine mounted between the wipers, but i found that i get better reception with it mounted on the roof. i imagine it depends where in the country you live. the farther north the worse the reception.

I have mine on the (my daily driver) inside rear deck, pushed up against the rear glass. I have a few instants of signal loss, but overall the trade off is good. If I ever replace my head unit in my 911sc, I will get a XM compatible receiver and place the antenna on the inside rear deck against the glass, in the middle. No hesitation.
