Question Radio Antenna for '84 wont go up

For all you Porsche experts out there. I don't have an owner's manual yet (previous owner didn't have one to give me) and I am not sure about how to get the antenna up. It's electric, I believe, but it just sits there in the full down position when I turn on the radio.

Can anyone please shed some light on this?

Thanks from a newbie.

I probably can’t offer you much help as I replaced my original antenna (it would bind intermittently) with a new one, which now doesn’t work at all! Maybe there’s someone wiser out there that could help me as well?

There are 4 wires connecting to the antenna from the car (on my 82 SC at least).
The original antenna had an aerial wire, which was simple enough to swap over, 2 colored wires (red & blue I think) that again were easy enough. I think one of these is always live & the other is live when the radio is turned on. Then there is a ground wire which originally connected to a wire that disappears under the fire wall in the front trunk. My new antenna came with a very short ground wire fixed to it & instructions to connect the other end to a male spade conn. tab that was part of the antenna mount. I did this & taped the end of the now loose part of the ‘ground’ wire in the trunk.
This all should have been a simple enough exercise (no playing w/ connections at the head unit etc.) but now the new antenna is permanently down

Is your stereo an original or an aftermarket replacement. The PO on my car put an in-line fuse for the power antenna that was blown. I replaced that and the antenna started working again. Check your stereo wiring to see if something looks out of place.
