has anyone replaced their speakers wires? I am trying to run new wires through my doors. The old wires are put in through such a way that I can't figure out how they did it in the first place. Is there an obvious thing im missing on putting new speaker wire to the doors?

Best way to R&R the factory speaker wiring is to tie a pull string to the existing factory wire, pull the factory wire out from inside the car, tie the new wire onto the pull string, tape the joint up nice and tight, and pull it back through. I use a little dish soap to lube things up. It helps the new wire pull through the rubber grommets easier, especially if you're upgrading the wire to a larger size (I pulled 14-4 into each of my doors). You will have to play with the position of the door (open and close a little) to help get through the jamb, but it's not bad. Just take your time.

you mean 14 guage wire? Why did you pull 4 14 guage wires through each of your doors? do you need 4 to make components work? AHH so confused!

Just a guess, but he probably has separates (woofer/tweeter) that each have a positive and negative lead coming from a crossover mounted somewhere other than his door.

I think most people try to mount the crossover on/in the door to avoid the 4-wire pulling situation.

I had grand plans to replace my wires but then wussed out and took the easy way of splicing the new to the old. Sometime when I've got more time and maybe a reason to get back in there I'll do it right, but I'm not running monster power anyway, so the OE 16 gauge is ok.
