Safe to drive with rear wheel bearing play?
I just bought a 69 911S and one of the several little issues I need to address is one of the rear wheel bearings has a lot of play. So much that you can hear the wheel moving around a bit when you drive. I am going to use the directions posted by another Pelicanite with an early car to try to replace it myself (Rear Wheel Bearing Replacement) but am curious if it is o.k. to drive until I replace the bearing?

If you can hear/feel the whell moving, when driving, I would NOT drive it anymore before replacing the bearing.

Driving on a bad bearing could damage some or all parts around the axle and even the trailing arm. I was on a 450 mile trip recently in another car which is 4 wheel drive and the bearing went bad. I did make it all the way home but damaged about everything that comes in contact with the axle area.

I don't think I would drive much with known bad bearings.
OTOH, Jeff just drove from MD to Cali on a bad left rear bearing. He got lucky though, IMHO.
