Beware doing business with turbocalculator.com
Hello everyone
I thought I should post an advisory about a transaction I recently had with turbocalculator.com. On 9/9/04 I ordered a turbo from them, on the advice of another Pelican. I had done as much research as I thought necessary, but found 4 hours later that I had selected the wrong turbo. I called, emailed, etc. to hold the order, not to ship. The next day, I learned that there was more to the turbo selection than picking a base model, so I decided to cancel my order. I was told there would be a 5% cancel order fee(!) even though I paid with Paypal, which has no such fees to the buyer for returns. I refuted this with professionalism, and explained my position, and my views on his, considering there is nothing posted anywhere on his site regarding such policies, nor was there anything on my order documentation. Long story shorted, I wait two weeks, no return, and their voicemail box is full. I then filed a paypal complaint, and just days before the investigation deadline, today, I get my refund, with an apology and an excuse regarding vacation. 9/9 - 9/27, too long IMO. I would have been more reasonable if they actually returned emails next day, or voice mails next day, but nothing. I was left in anguish wondering if I had just lost my money. Just my bad experience, yours may differ, but I would bet not :( -DMA |
l had a similar experience. These guys seem to go on a lot of vacations and l think l`ve learned not to buy online if l can`t get someone from the company on the phone.Do you still need a turbo? l found the TO4B,60 -1 .58 A/R P-trim,which l believe is what Promotive uses, for $495 shipped. Let me know as l`m buying mine this week
