Some new pics ...

... of my rig, which, to my surprise, were taken by some members of a fledgling German car club here in Melbourne.

The pics:

Adam,

How did you take that shot?

Noah,

I've always been partial to pumped-up 911s, too. As far I know, the flares are 930 flares; '73 RSR and '74 RS flares are supposed to be slightly different.

As for the 17s, they were made by a guy here in Melbourne.

Those wheels make that car, I've never seen custom 17" Fuchs that look as clean as yours.

Matt,

That's a truly awesome 911!

The difference in the flares may be similar to those between an SC and an Carrera/RS Carrera, which differ in that the early cars are (slightly) flatter or squarer across the top of the wheel arch opening. The difference is only very slight though. My Carrera 3.0 uses these flatter guards as well.

Cheers,

Sheldon

Hi Mat,

Unfortunately no I don't have any pics.

I must admit that I found it hard to tell the difference, but will be in a better position to comment (and get a photo) at our next track day (always 1 or 2 RS's come along).

Matt, I took that shot leaning my arm out the window while driving. We're only doing around 80km/h...

Here are some of Jamie's photos of your car from yesterday:

That's what comes in to mind when I see the pictures of your car.

Sheldon, grab a photo of my replica RS (SC) guards and Dan Bowden's genuine RS guards at the next trackday... that should give a reasonable comparison.

Amazing you managed to get the shot in focus too.

Must have been a smooth section of road we were on at that time.

The action shots were taken on the way up to Warburton, through Eltham/Healesville etc. The parked shots were taken at Warburton.

I'll PM you the club details. You'll have a blast!
