Pipe tuning

I saw this in the morning paper (Disney Hall pipe organ) and thought there might be some ideas here to fine tune the sound of the exhaust system. What are your thoughts?

the cone tuning is interesting. Maybe a simple screw fastened exhaust tip extension to meet track db levels if it doesn't increase back psi ?

The cone tuning was a little confusing until I realized the cone is a tool to shape the end of the pipe. The tip flares outward vs. flared inward.

Is that the intended purpose of rolled exhaust tips or just the intended look?

I don't know.. I would guess it's only for the look or we would have heard more about it.

fwiw.. a friend was talking to me today about a DSO, Digital Surge Oscilloscope sic. He uses it to track all kinds of computer flaws and crashes, etc in boats. His cost $1,000. He thinks the $200 unit is crap, but he'll le tme know for sure when he investigates.
